Instrument Choice

Instrument choice is dependent upon a number of factors, such as the required accuracy, and the nature of the environment in which the system is to be deployed.

Leica TPS instruments are used to measure prism movements. These will require shelters which can also be provided by Softrock. In a number of situations GPS instruments are deployed, to monitor the movement of TPS control, and to measure movements in structures or slopes.

Accurate distance measurements are affected by air temperature, pressure and relative humidity.  For automated systems, it is important to have a weather station that can be queried from the software, and Softrock will supply an appropriate station for these systems

If required, geotechnical instruments like extensometers can also be added to systems.
